At Owen Roe we work primarily with smaller vineyard sites in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, and the cooler west end of Yakima Valley Washington. Both of these areas have a climate of relatively cool days with enough length in the growing season to allow fruit to ripen fully. These conditions yield fruit with low pH and excellent acidity, qualities consistent with the world's finest age-worthy wines. Our interest in these areas is further enhanced by the remarkable diversity of soil types within each region; allowing us to create wines with distinctive and unique personality, even within the same varietal.
Each of the sites we work with are tendered by true craftsmen of the viticultural trade. The principle of good earth stewardship is very important to everyone we work with, so no herbicides or pesticides are used in our vineyards.
