2009 Pinot Gris Crawford-Beck Vineyard

David and Jean Beck farm this 1.2 acre block of exceptional Pinot Gris on their hillside in the Eola-Amity hills. This location on top of the Amity-Hopewell Road is cooled by direct winds through the Van Duzer Corridor. The growing conditions perfectly capture the aromatics of this grape and provide flavor intensity not found in warmer sites. The Becks also are excellent farmers and their attention to the vines is suitably expressed with this complex and wonderfully aromatic wine. Very pretty aromas of citrus, pear, and tropical fruits with a vibrant and refreshing acidity. A wonderful glass of wine by itself or paired with grilled salmon, lemon roast chicken or a fresh garden salad.
